Kites Over New England
by Staff Writer

Kites over New England were flying over Revere Beach last Saturday. On a beautiful late summer’s day in August, with the sun shinning and just the right amount of sea breeze kites of all sizes and shapes were turned loose in the skies over Revere Beach. Young and old alike were fixated on putting some sort of animal, mineral or vegetable attached on a string as high in the air as possible . It was a perfect day on Revere Beach, families were together doing something fun, enjoying the company of each other, making new friends while untangling some of the kite strings that happen to meet. There were free kites for the kids to decorate as creative as they wanted to get. There were kites to purchase at reasonable prices to expensive. Cats , dogs, dragons, sharks, and octopi you name it, it was flying at Revere Beaches’ annual Kite Festival. Artie Perin, general manager of Kelly’s Roast Beef stated he couldn’t be happier of the turn out of families and visitors to the beach for this great event. The event took place in front of the world famous Kelly's Roast Beef and no one ever turns down an opportunity to eat at Kelly's while on Revere Beach, one of the events sponsors. Those who were there know what a great time it was and those who thought about going but cut their grass instead or painted that deck , sorry you missed it….everyone else had a wonderful day.
