City Mourns Passing of Ann Fedele RSCHP Founding Member

News about the sudden and unexpected death of one of the city’s most dedicated volunteers to historical and cultural causes hit many friends, colleagues, and family members particularly hard earlier this week. Ann Fedele, founding member of the Revere Society for Cultural and Historic Preservation (RSCHP) and active and outspoken member on a host of other committees and organizations, died late Sunday night due to complications from a heart aneurysm, according to her friend Len Piazza.

Veterans Day 2012: A day to reflect on sacrifices and values

POPLARVILLE — In the 11th month, the 11th day, and at the 11th hour, of the year 1918 WWI ended. In the minds of the American people, it was fought to end all wars. Unfortunately, a second world war occurred in which more than four hundred thousand soldiers died. Armistice Day was renamed “Veteran’s Day” in order to pay tribute and honor all who had served in America’s wars. President Eisenhower signed the bill proclaiming November 11 as Veteran’s Day.

2012 Columbus Day Breakfast Fundraiser a Huge Success – Link to Revere TV !

  Columbus Day Parade Breakfast Fundraiser a huge success at Beachmont VFW- See the Revere TV Video ! It was standing room only at the Beachmont VFW this past Monday morning as a big crowd came to support the effort to bring back the tradition of the having the Columbus Day Parade in Revere.  Mayor Dan Rizzo, as the event MC,  showed great pride and determination in his ability to gather widespread community support  for this event in his effort to bring back the parade in 2013.

Developments Underway Throughout the City

Grocery shopping in Revere will never be the same as numerous sources have confirmed that a Demoulas Market Basket will locate and build a new store at the Northgate Mall within one year. “Market Basket is one entity that has expressed interest in going there and it’s looking really positive for them going in,” said Revere Economic Director John Festa on Monday. Last week, multiple Building Department officials confirmed that Market Basket submitted plans to build an 80,000 sq. ft. store on the site where the former Toys R’Us store once sat – a building that has been demolished due to a structural collapse. They will apparently build a new building on the site, and are prepared to take out a foundation permit from the City any day.
