Boston Area 4th of July Fireworks Celebrations!

Along with Thanksgiving, July 4th is a holiday Americans can claim all to themselves. There’s no shortage of fun, family oriented things to do in Massachusetts this July 4th. Boston Harborfest is the king of all things 4th of July. With hundreds of events for adults and children, including historic reenactments, live music, food, and patriotic revelries, you won’t run out of things to do. But Independence Day celebrations aren’t limited to Boston. There is a solemn reading of the Declaration of Independence at Old Sturbridge Village; a Blessing of the Fleet with food and live music in New Bedford; art shows in Brewster ; a road race on Nantucket and many fireworks displays across the Commonwealth. Revere Group Wins Better Beaches Award

Waterfront Square is Moving to the Development Fast Track

Seth Daniel- Revere Journal  –   A major milestone in the Waterfront Square development on Revere Beach is about to unfold this week, and if developers have their way, the project will soon shift to warp speed. Covington Realty Partners of St. Louis will appear before the Conservation Commission today, June 5th, to discuss plans for building two apartment buildings with 194 rental units on the North Lot at Wonderland. It will be the first piece of the private development phase of the project. Up to now, only the public portion of the project has been under construction – including the new parking garage, pedestrian bridge and plaza deck.

Return of the Piping Plovers at Revere Beach

  Plovers are back once again at Revere Beach -Journal Staff   The lumberjacks of the West Coast have the spotted owls and the residents in Capistrano have the Flamingos. In Revere, we now have the annual return of the Piping Plovers and their expanding nesting area at Revere Beach. Every year there seems more of the Beach is fenced off and beach goers are forbidden from entering the nesting area.

Suffolk Downs unveils model for casino complex

Posted by Laura Gomez- Boston.com Suffolk Downs unveiled the 3D model for the proposed resort casino complex yesterday, put on display in the Topsider Room of the present race tract in East Boston.   Suffolk Downs unveiled a 3-D model Wednesday of its $1 billion casino proposal. The model will be available for public viewing in April.
