Revere Chamber of Commerce $10,000.00 Pot O Gold to be held September 18th

 Pot O Gold Fundraiser to be held at Casa Lucia Function Hall The Revere Chamber of Commerce will be hosting its Annual Pot of Gold $10,000 Dinner on Thursday, September 18, 2014! This year’s dinner will be at the Casa Lucia Function Hall, beginning at 6:00 pm. Tickets will be priced at $100.00, inclusive of the entry to the $10,000.00 Pot of Gold, buffet dinner and entertainment. Preceding the final Mass Gaming Commission hearing on Monday Aug 11th the Patriot Women’s Club will be hosting an appreciation BBQ for all of the supporters of the proposed resort casino at Suffolk Downs from 2pm-4pm behind Revere HS. Revere Tornado Relief Fund established

Revere Mayor Dan Rizzo and a host of other federal and local officials will be on hand Friday to formally launch the Revere Tornado Relief Fund. http://www.reveretornadorelief.org The fund, created on GoFundMe.com, has a goal of raising $1 million. According to a statement by Rizzo, regular homeowner’s insurance plans may not cover much of the damage caused by the tornado. “Total estimated damage is in the millions of dollars. With the extreme rarity of the tornado in Revere, a vast majority of these costs will likely not be covered by private insurance,” he said. “We have set up this fund so that these residents and business owners are not alone in shouldering the burden of rebuilding their lives and our community.” There are several ways you can donate to the fund. 2014 Revere Beach National Sand Sculpting Festival a Huge Success

The 2014 Revere Beach National Sand Sculpting Festival came to a close Saturday evening concluding with a spectacular fireworks display. Hundreds of thousands of visitors from all over New England and beyond came to see the an amazing array of sand sculptings created by the worlds greatest artisans. Once again the Revere Beach Partnership has conducted an incredible event that was enjoyed by throngs of visitors to Revere Beach. This years event was by far the biggest and the best! It seemed as though the there was a never ending line of amazing sand sculptings. The centerpiece featuring the five seals of our US Armed Forces was a fitting tribute to all those who have served. Revere Beach Goes Hollywood

No, that’s not a picture of Miami Beach. It’s our own Revere Beach after a Hollywood makeover. Some lucky locals got a chance to see Johnny Depp and Sienna Miller during the filming of the new Whitey Bulger biopic, Black Mass. Metropolitan Beaches Commission Releases Findings for Lynn, Nahant, Revere, & Winthrop

Waves of Change REVERE – The Metropolitan Beaches Commission (MBC) released its’ report Waves of Change on the Boston Harbor region’s 15 public beaches including Revere, Nahant, Lynn, Revere, and Winthrop, owned by the Commonwealth and managed by the Department of Conservation and Recreation. The Commission held ten hearings at the State House and in each of the region’s waterfront neighborhoods and beachfront communities to examine the progress made on these beaches since it released its first report in 2007. “The investments we have made on these beaches strengthen our communities and the economy, improve people’s lives and demonstrate that government can work,” said Senator Tom McGee of Lynn, who Co-Chairs the Commission. The report identifies a number of continuing challenges and opportunities that need to be addressed to move these beaches from good to great. The Revere Beach Kite Festival was held today across from Kelly’s Roast Beef! Under beautiful blue skies hundreds of young and old alike enjoyed an incredibly beautiful day to fly a kite. The Revere Beach Partnership and Kelly’s once again sponsored this event on a perfect Sunday afternoon. Kites were given away to early birds and enjoyed by everyone on this gorgeous day at the beach. Mayor Rizzo Announces Fourth Annual Revere Shines Citywide Clean-Up and National Take Back Day

Story by : Revere News  Hundreds of Revere residents will participate in the yearly community clean-up For the past three years, the City of Revere has hosted Revere Shines, a citywide clean-up effort that occurs on the last Saturday of April. This year Revere Shines will take place on Saturday, April 26 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Residents and local business partners are being asked to meet at 8:45 a.m. at the American Legion Building at 249 Broadway, from where they will then be dispersed into the community o begin their clean-up efforts. After a few hours, all are invited back to the American Legion Building  at noon for a BBQ and music to celebrate their hard work. Last year “Revere Shines” drew over 500 residents, businesses, community groups, and other organizations that participated in the clean-up. Together these volunteers were able to effectively clean and remove trash and debris from over 60 locations across Revere. …
