Reardon's at Fenno's Corner
Fenno's Store 1835, Still Standing
First Store in the Town
In 1835 the first store, in what is now Revere was erected. It was;
built on the southeast corner of Broadway and Beach Street by John
Fenno and his son Joseph. From them, Fenno's Corner takes its name.
This location has long been a landmark on the North Shore, and parts
of the original ediface can still be found integrated into the present
structure. In its early days, as a wayside store and inn, it was
patronized by every farmer In Essex County who carted his produce to
the Boston markets. The Tavern, the "Half-way House" between
Lynn and Boston, has been for many years a popular stop for hungry and
thirsty travelers and tradesmen, as well as a gathering place for the
local population. Fenno's Corner also served as the first post office
in Revere and the Rev. Horatio Alger was its first Post Master. The
Restaurant and Tavern are currently owned and operated by the Reardon
Family. We welcome you and are pleased to have you, share in the
tradition of good food, quenching quaff and conviviality that is
Fenno's Corner.
